Launch
of Kanagawa International Foundation linking Kanagawa and the
world
Chairperson, Yoshiharu FUKUHARA
The
globalization of social and economic systems means that interactive
and interdependent relations are becoming stronger in many areas,
along with various challenges on a global scale.
As individuals, regardless of our intentions, each of us is
a central player in these challenges as a member of the global
society.
Alternatively, by cooperating in the progress of globalization,
it is important to work to clarify local identity. What is needed
even more is the intellect to calmly assess the trend of globalization
and the vision and energy to explore local ways to do this.
To respond to such a request in times like these, a new foundation
was formed in April 2007, by integrating the Kanagawa International
Association (KIA) and the Kanagawa Foundation for Academic and
Cultural Exchange (K-FACE).
By integrating these two organizations and merging their respective
accumulated networks and resources, it is hoped that significant
work can be achieved in many areas.
Kanagawa International Foundation (KIF) aims to take this work
to new heights as “a fresh link between Kanagawa and the world”.
Your future cooperation would be very much appreciated.
